Live video meetings are a great feature that you can use to communicate with your class. We'd love to show you how to share your screen and present any media that you have on your live video meeting.

Share Screen

Sharing your screen is pretty straightforward. Locate the Share Screen button right next to the Present Media one and click on it.

Select the sharing option that better fits your needs:

  • Chrome Tab: Lets you share a specific tab from your browser

  • Window: Lets you share a specific window or application

  • Entire Screen: As the name implies, shares your entire screen as you see it. We recommend that you only use this option if you are sharing a second monitor. Sharing the same screen where the meeting is being held will cause something commonly named as "Infinite Screen" effect, which can be very disorienting.

Note: Remember, if you chose a specific window or tab and then find the need to share something outside of that, you have to restart the process. This means that you need to stop sharing and then share the new window/tab.

Once you are done sharing, simply click Stop Presenting to go back to where you started.

Presenting Media

While sharing your screen is an awesome feature, sometimes you want to make sure people see media in the best quality possible while still being able to have a live experience of such content. For this purpose, Presenting Media is a much more powerful tool, here is how to use it:

Make sure you or a member of your class has uploaded the file to their My Files. Check out our tutorial and the types of files you can present here.

You will find the Present Media button at the top of your meeting next to the Share Screen button.

Navigate through the folders and locate the media that you or a classmate previously uploaded, and click Open.

This media will be presented in the best quality possible to all participants since it allows the file to buffer more efficiently than sharing your screen, that said you will still be controlling exactly what they see at all times, for videos you will be controlling when and where the video starts and stops. Once you are done, simply click Stop Presenting.

As usual, if you are running through any issues or need help, make sure you hit the Help Chat button on the top right of your screen. We are always happy to help!
