Smashcut's Live Video Meetings are one-on-one video chats between you and your Instructor. This is your time to discuss the feedback they've given you on your project assignments, get professional guidance and insights from working industry professionals.

What you'll need for your video meetings:

  • A desktop or laptop computer with a webcam

  • Chrome web browser

  • Fast, reliable internet connection

  • A quiet place or headphones so you and your mentor can hear each other

  • Work to develop and identify achievable goals. What are you looking to get out of your Smashcut Program? Maybe you just want to get a basic understanding of the filmmaking process. Maybe you are focused on writing your first screenplay and you want your Instructor to provide insights. Your Instructor can tailor their feedback and advice with an eye toward your goals.

  • Bring notes of topics you'd like to discuss to your video meetings. Before each video meeting you should put together a some topics you'd like to go over with your mentor. *If this is your first meeting, be sure to introduce yourself and talk about your skill level and your goals. Use the video lessons and assignments as a guide for your questions.

  • Be on time! Some instructors have multiple meetings scheduled throughout the day and can't run over the scheduled time. Try hard to be on time for your meetings so you get the most out of your scheduled sessions!

  • If you do have to reschedule please let your Student Advisor know ASAP so we can work to let your Instructor know and find a time that works better.
